Today's Prompt: Determined

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
Giving up is for losers.
Get in the zone.
Coffee's for closers.

What drives you to improve? How many times do you have to fail before you're good at something?

Write about it.

Today's Prompt: Rush

You can't slow down. You're in a hurry to get things done. What will happen if you drop the ball? On the flip-side, what will happen if you're too hasty?

Or, perhaps you could explore that exquisite jolt that travels up your spine when you feel you're being watched and admired by a special someone.

What's your rush today?

2/23/10 prompt: grey

What does grey signify to you today?

A weathered, fading photo of times long past?
The way you feel when after a week of sunshine, grey clouds loom overhead?
Does your mind drift to thoughts of that major component of the central nervous system, grey matter?
Are there are no black and white solutions to a problem; only shades of grey?

Write about what 'grey' means to you.

2/15/10 prompt: hiding

Today's prompt is "hiding." Who is hiding from you? Who are you hiding from? Are you hiding anything? What's just beyond your field of vision? If you're looking for something or someone, do you know where to find it?

2/8/10 prompt: love

Today, let's write about love. But which kind of love will you choose? Of course, there's romantic love in this week that leads us to Valentine's Day. But have you considered familial love? The love of a parent for a child? Platonic love? The profound oneness and devotion of spiritual love? Narcissism? Oh, so many loves to choose from. Which one will inspire you?

2/1/10 prompt: bud

In cold, barren winter, I'm overjoyed by the first hints of spring. Crocuses bravely peeking out from the mud; tiny buds forcing themselves to confront the chill. Today's prompt is 'bud'. What thoughts does it conjure for you?

Give yourself 5 minutes, 10 minutes, whatever amount of time you like. Then see what buds from you!

Sunday Scribblings #199 - Yes (10 minute timed writing)

crawl out of bed
strip the sheets
stumble in the shower
towel off.
throw on some clothes.
avoid the mirror.
Halt.
Walk back to the bed stand.
Pick up the worn prayer card.
Stick it in the bible, place it firmly on the bookshelf.
Revisit the closet.
Shimmy out of the grey sweat pants.
Slide into that purple dress.
Shake it in front of the mirror. Yes.
Grab an umbrella and strut on out of there.
Drink up the rain. Don't drown in it.
Splash out there until you find someone else who is lonely too.
Practice togetherness again.
